Back to school

Well, I'm finally back up in Rexburg. I had a great break, which included a trip to Washington to see family (and a Mariners game), seeing my younger brother off at the MTC (Missionary Training Center, from which he will go to his mission), and a somewhat last minute trip to a BYU football game. Busy, but fun, break. But now I'm ready to be back in the Burg, and back in school.

Having said that, it is going to be a crazy busy semester. 6 classes, preparing for the Spanish Praxis (Teacher Certification Exam) and getting ready for student teaching next year. Oh, and dating if there's time. :) I'll be plenty busy, and it will be pretty tough. But I like a good challenge, and hope to hit it head on.

I wanted to type up a post tonight, but don't have much to say aside from being back in school. Maybe I'll talk a little more about why I started this blog. It was more for me than anything else. I often find myself with something I'm dying to say, whether it's to vent(which I try and do less and less), tell a cool story, or maybe share a thought I had. I just as often, however, find myself with no one to share said vent, story or thought with. Sometimes it's not something that I want to post as a Facebook status, or it might be really long and so wouldn't really fit as a Facebook status. Writing in a journal is good, and something I need to work on, but the only person that's sharing with is my future self. And, I guess, posterity. Then one day, after a long day of work, I was in one of the most thought inspiring places ever. The shower. Seriously, it's a great place to think, and I've had many an epiphany while singing in the shower. This day, while singing "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables (Hugh Jackman does it better), I had a thought. "What if I make a blog?" I thought. Then I can talk about random thoughts and experiences (note the name of the blog: Random Ramblings...) and people can read it if they want, and I'll feel a little better knowing that I have someone to share with. And thus was born this blog. It shows me how many people have read my posts, but I don't know who. But I do know that someone has. For example, my first post on Sunday has 17 views. Who knows how many this one will get? So anyway, that's mainly why I started this blog. So far I like it, so we'll see how long I keep doing it.

Here's another thought. (Funny story first, though. Above, as I recounted how I was singing "Bring Him Home" in the shower, I decided to look it up and listen to it. A few times. :) So now I'm listening to it for the third time, and I had this thought. Maybe it's the song that's so inspiring, and not the shower. (Now, several minutes after that, I'm going through and listening to all my favorite Les Mis songs.)) Anywho, maybe we can try something. All you who read this post, hopefully you liked it, even though it wasn't much-I like the first one better-and hopefully you continue to read my blog. If you'd like me to talk about anything, maybe post it in the comments, and I can try and include it in my next post. I can't promise I will, or guarantee I'll get to all your suggestions (wishfully thinking there may be several lol) but maybe I will. Maybe that will give me more to talk about next time, and even more, something interesting to you to talk about. Let's try it!!
